Operating at the forefront of scientific endeavour, the expertise base offered through SRSL has enabled many commercial and public bodies to obtain objective information on a diverse range of topics.

SRSL is regularly called upon to provide advice and consultancy to a broad range of interested parties ranging from industry through to both governmental and non-governmental organisations.  Operating at the forefront of the scientific debate, SRSL staff are able to provide qualified and independent advice in their area of expertise.

Enquiries often require the co-ordination of a number of experts, which could be derived internally or externally. SRSL is able to facilitate the organisation of such consortia on behalf of the client in order to achieve their objectives.

The SRSL consultancy activities are aided by facilities such as a well equipped library, access to e-journals, multi-disciplinary expertise which can be called upon and extensive IT and data-management capabilities. Expert advice has been given on issues such as climate change prediction, inshore fisheries, technology development, oil spills and marine conservation with clients from a broad sector base.
