The Scottish Association for Marine Science owns and operates a wide array of equipment and facilities, that are available for hire through SRSL. Since 2004 SRSL is seated in the newly build Dunstaffnage Marine Laboratory. This new accomodation provides state-or-the-art facilities, among which are dedicated labspace, conference facilities, aquarium setups, the latest in communication technology and deep-sea lander facilities. Facilities and equipment that are available through SRSL include - Two research vessels equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and marine devices as well as several small boats
- Field instrumentation including Benthic landers, CTD water samples, deep-sea corers, underwater video and still photography, drifting buoys and oceanographic moorings capability.
- Aquarium facility consiting of aquarium setups fed with a continuous supply of natural seawater, optional photoperiod suit and temperature controlled rooms
- National Facility for Scientific Diving providing support for projects in British waters and abroad such as the artificial reef programme, techniques for stock assessment and biotope mapping.
- New hyperbaric facility, which is a premier facility for the diving and trauma treatment on the west coast of Scotland
- Conference facilities with muliple meeting rooms equipped with the latest audiovizual facilities, hosted by a professional conference management team.
