The Dunstaffnage Marine Laboratory operates two research vessels and several smaller boats, which can be used across a broad range of marine environments depending on the bathymetry and local geographic conditions of the field locations. RVS CalanusThis 20 m research vessel is equipped to carry our hydrographic and acoustic surveys, inshore trawling and benthic sampling with cores and dredges. Onboard wet and dry laboratory facilities are available for processing or housing instrumentation. Seol MaraThis 10.5 m research vessel is equipped for hydrographic and acoustic work, light trawling, dredging and coring in sheltered coastal waters. Seol Mara is particularly suitable for near shore diving operations. The vessel can accommodate 10 extra people and is available for day charters. For further details click here.
